This is a very clever, fun book. The Yellow Dot is your tour guide, taking you to all kinds of fun places. But--you must obey your tour guide, and do what it says. As you can see in the photo, sometimes, you have to touch certain dots, or follow certain lines, or even shout and jump sometimes. Here are some of the fun things the reader has to do:FOLLOW THOSE STAIRSSAY, "ZA-ZA-ZOOMMM!"HOLD HANDSCLOSE EYESWell, you get the picture. This is one clever, fun book. I think kids will love following the Yellow Dot on one adventure after another.Advance Reading Copy, courtesy of Chronicle Books

Hey anybody want to play? From the creator of "Press Here" and "Mix It Up", Hervé Tullet's brand new creation "Let's Play!" takes you out of the box to discover the emotions and excitement of playing with colour and line.A kid-friendly yellow dot invites you to "Press the top corner to get me started," and you put your finger on the page! Yellow dot is the guide extraordinaire that will encourage your child not to be shy but get involved with the magic that is about to unfold.Fasten your seat belt as you play hide-in-seek in a forest of trees, enter into a dark ominous tunnel, and ssshhhhh!! tip toe up the stairs. You will be energized as you flip, turn, clap and shout za-za-zoommmm! Surprises await as the yellow dot gets animated and bounces right off the page and into your hair! Oh my! Delightful! The yellow dot teaches your child to STOP at a red light, and GO at a green light. It introduces your little one to an amazing world of wonder. It speaks to overcoming obstructions, and coming to terms with fears such as being afraid of the dark or being scared of heights. Tullet is a genius when it comes to thinking creatively and making reading come alive. He inserts many playful twists and turns to make the experience fun and unforgettable. "Let's Play!" is non-stop interplay page after page and little ones will be giggling and asking for more. Highly recommended.

Let's Play takes all the fun to be had in Tullet's Press Here and cranks it up a notch! Let's Play provides even more interactive opportunities as kids not only get the chance to follow the dot through some impressive acrobatics, but also to clap and cheer it along as it fearfully makes it's way through a scary page of ink blots. This time the dot even leaves the page to rest on top of your head! No worries though, a good shake will return our little yellow dot back to the page. This delightful book provides tons of play value, and although I feel that the acrobatics are a bit too extravagant for group sharing, this will find a popular home on laps and at bed time. The illustrations are fun, colorful and really pop against all that white space. Kids will have a great time following the yellow dot with their finger as it goes on its journey. This book offers all the fun of an app with all the addedbenefits of a real, honest to goodness book! This is a fantastic opportunity to re-introduce your kids to the idea that books can be just as much fun as all those electronics. Toss out the technology and LET'S PLAY!*This book provided at no cost from the publisher for review purposes.

We haven't read either Press Here or Mix it Up so this was our first introduction to the fun and whimsical world of Herve Tullet. This is such a new and innovative way to get toddlers and young children involved in reading- I love it!Rather than a story with a beginning, middle, and end- this book reads more like an activity book. On each page, there are directions- such as "press the top corner" or "follow the line with your finger". There are a lot of "trace the line" pages, which is wonderful in helping those fine motor skills. I also love how only primary colors are used- so it is a nice, easy color identification tool. We will have to go back and read the other books in this series! So, we have: colors, fine motor skills, following directions, and an interactive experience? Sounds perfect for anyone looking for an educational and fun book for their little ones!

Just as hilarious as the other two! This book is an amazing tour with the yellow dot. My almost 4-year olds absolutely loved jt!

We have loved Herve Tullet's previous books, but neither my sons nor I are as into this book. It is a little more complicated and doesn't have quite the same instant fulfilling effect as the others. However, it is still clever and creative. I would just probably get this one from the library instead of purchasing it for your own collection.

This is an interactive book suited to toddler and preschool aged children. You are asked to press and follow the dot as it runs, spins, jumps and hides. Simple illustrations and fun text make this a great read aloud for small children.Review copy received.

I LOVED Tullet's previous book Press Here, so I had to get Let's Play as well. Let's Play is also a fun book, but I don't like it as much as Press Here. My kids (ages 6 & 2) do enjoy reading (and playing!) this book.
