every year we love to get a day-by-day calendar and this year we tried this Star Wars version, sadly it's not what we were expecting. We were hoping the daily pictures would be pictures of Star Wars, like actual photos from movies and such, but it's a quirky mix of drawings/designs, cartoon, and various other Star Wars items. Going by the front cover we were hoping the remaining daily pages would be similar but we are disappointed they are not.
My calendar arrived broken in half, with the last month of the year or so (Thanksgiving through December) not glued at all to the rest of the year and just "loose" pages. So my calendar is sort of okay until then, even though it's just sitting on the plastic now and not actually attached. Not sure if these are poorly made, poorly packaged, or if I just have bad luck.
This calendar could've been great. Alas, it is a slapped together hodge-podge with no clear theme or style. Several of the cute little "pop art" pages have misquotes from the films. Next time try to get a Star Wars fan to put together your crappy calendar and not someone who doesn't even have a basic knowledge of the series and its memorable quotes.
In the past I have comments on these Star Wars daily calendars.Recent years I did NOT care for them at all.This one for 2016 I just do NOT understand:1. The box it comes in. How close does it look like the 2015 daily calendar? NOT MUCH THOUGHT WENT INTO THIS. Has the same drawing of the Stormtrooper with the cracked, damaged helmet. All they did was change how Vader looked on it.2. The calendar itself. What did they do? There are some photos, mostly from the original films. BUT they combined these with blue prints of ships, the Death Star, etc and it is still mostly drawings. Most of them the artwork is even worse than the 2015 calendarThere is NOT MUCH on episodes 1, 2 & 3.Once again the designers blew it with another calendar. Do they NOT learn from their mistakes? I guess not.
