I love the page a day feature with the quotes/slogans or mottos to think on for the day & the built in stand up design.
I wanted to know the date, and that means that I have to be able (despite my poor vision) to see the date and the day from a distance of about 10 feet. This calendar fulfilled that requirement. I also wanted lots of white space on each page so I could write reminders to myself about upcoming events and appointments. I am pleased with the amount of white space. Finally, I wanted to be interested, amused, inspired, or instructed; I specifically did not want to be bored or bewildered every day as I exposed a new page. I'm not yet certain this calendar will pass that test. To illustrate, using today's date (Jan. 2): "You can't dance if you've got too much muck in your head." The quote is attributed to Yoko Ono. I have no idea what "dance" or "muck" means to her because, to date, I've rarely understood anything she has ever said. Time (and the calendar pages) will reveal the full story. Until then, I can only award a hopeful four stars.
I purchased this daily for my wife since Keep Calm is one of her favorite phrases. However I have to say some of the daily quotes are just not that applicable and really not motivational or calming. Overall its a hit and miss.
I purchased 14 of these to distribute to my son's teachers and to my husband's coworkers. Everyone loved it! And the price perfectly fit our budget this year. Packaging and delivery timing were great!
My husband got me this page-a-day last year as a gift. As a person always on the lookout for "quotable quotes,"I can say that last year's collection delighted me because it contained so many wry/thought-provoking items; several now adorn my kitchen bulletin board, to be read and re-read with the original "aha" response. Also appreciated is the wide variety of sources: men and women from all eras and many countries.Still, my five-star rating is based on last year's edition; I find that, so far (April 2014), this time around the quotes lean toward the to me pedestrian, even cliched variety. I hope things pick up as the year progresses. Perhaps this slide just underscores the challenges of sustaining consistently compelling choices by the series' editors?
I love this calendar for my desk at the office. It is a perfect collection of pick-me-ups and motivational quotes to encourage me throughout the day. As a bonus, the paper that the page-a-day is printed on can be easily used for "scrap paper" or notes on the blank opposite side.
The history of this quote was intriguing, so I bought this second oneto give as a Christmas gift. Having heard my appreciative commentsabout the first edition, my friend was grateful for the gift.
Bought this for a co-worker they really like it. They reads it every day at the office and share with others frequently. they are in a high stress job with other issues and it helps keep them focused.
