This is a really cute book about a boy lost at Yankee Stadium after a game. He encounters talking rakes, baseballs, sushi etc. it even includes Monument Park, Babe Ruth and Derek Jeter. While the book itself may not be "biographical" per say, the family is interracial just like Derek Jeter's, which I'm sure is no mistake. While the book isn't exactly cohesive, my daughter can't get enough of it and that's what matters to this Yankee fan!
Great book for young readers, especially baseball lovers. I bought this for my grandsons. They love anything baseball and everything about Derek Jeter. The book is well written. The pages are colorful. A must have for young readers.
This is a story of a young boy who, after having a great time watching the Yankees play ends up losing his autograph book and getting lost in the maze-like hallways under the stadium. As he tries to find his family, he encounters talking mops, talking bats and balls, and talking snacks- each with different advice as to which way he should continue. He then bumps into a talking statue of Babe Ruth and finally runs into a special "friend" who happened to find his autograph book.Though Derek Jeter does make an appearance in this book, I really wouldn't classify it in the "Biography" genre, which is one of the subcategories it is currently listed in on . The story is cute but a tad predictable. There is definitely a "rule of 3s" at play, so learning readers will appreciate the repetition. The illustrations were the highlight in my opinion- it reads very much like an animated short.Great for any young Yankees fan!
Received the book yesterday and have already read it 3 times with my 5 year old.
The story line is a bit awkward because it seems to jump in the middle & the end as if there was a page limit. However, the illustrations are wonderful & my son loves this book.
Such a cute book - our kids love reading about this little boy's adventure around Yankee Stadium.
This is the perfect book for a little boy whose dad is a Yankees fan.
