This book is great! The book has a lot of information about Neil Armstrong. You can learn a lot about airplanes! I felt like I was in the story. I think you will feel like you are in the story too!I strongly recommed this book!Simon. 7 years old.
My boys really, really enjoyed this book. We are big fans of NASA and the Space Program. We can see launches from our back yard and I grew up watching the shuttles launch. This was a great story of Neil Armstrong's life, starting when he was a young boy when his passion for flying was ignited. Did you know he could fly (age 15) before he could drive? Yes! Amazing! We all enjoyed reading this and sharing the journey of Neil's flight to the space. This series is so great! I highly recommend it. We have read several (Muir, Hershey and currently reading Ford) and all have been top notch!
I had to read this book for a book report, and it was very full of good information. It was easy to read, and I finished it quickly
My 1st grade rock star reader is in love with this relatable story. He can identify with a famous American. My son reads passages to me and I enjoy the story too. This is a step above Magic Treehouse and a wonderful way to introduce the genre of biographies and American history.
I ordered this book to help my grandson prepare a book report and poster for his class. He (and we) were thrilled to learn he received an A+ with wonderful comments. He is a third grade student and this was perfect for him.
I bought this online for my 5 year old's book report. I'm glad I received it weeks before the report was due because it was over 150 pages that I had to read out loud to my kids. It was a good story but there were many unnecessary details that made it a little boring and hard to read at times. It was hard to keep the attention of a small child at times, other parts they really enjoyed. Overall it was a good read for any child who is interested in becoming and astronaut just be prepared for a lot of reading or tons of technical questions from kids who can read it themselves.
I really enjoyed the book. It is a great book overall however, if you are looking for a timeline, this will not be ideal. I also wish they had more detail on his time in Korea.
My son absolutely loved this book! Very inspiring. Just ordered a book from the same series about the Wright Brothers for my son. Can't go wrong with these books.
