Hurry Up, Alfie!
Read Free Books and Download eBooks

It’s time to get dressed and go the park, but Alfie is still in his pajamas. Putting on clothes seems like the least appealing thing to do for this energetic and curious little alligator, especially when there are so many amusing distractions. And Alfie, like all preschoolers, is both easily sidetracked and easily entertained. Sparely written and whimsically illustrated in watercolor and collage, this is a delightful observation of the life of a small child, perfect for early-morning sharing.

This book hits oh so close to home for parents of toddlers/young children. Mom just needs Alfie to get dressed so they can go out to the park. Alfie, on the other hand keeps getting distracted and never.stops.moving. (sound familiar?). In between Mom making breakfast and getting a load of laundry together Alfie does handstands, plays in a box, chases the cat, pretends he's a frog, and strips down to his underwear. Eventually, Alfie is presentable but refuses to leave the house without his umbrella (despite it being a sunny day).So many sweet moments captured in this story. Parents will read it and identify with the silly antics children use to keep from focusing on the task at hand. Kids will love Alfie and will giggle at the funny things he does. This is such a great series and highlights the everyday realness of childhood!

This book appeals to both my 4 year old grandson and my 3 year old granddaughter. They identify with Alfie and find it hilarious.
