I got this book for my one-year-old son. He absolutely loves this book. He flips through the pages and points to the pictures on the pages. He loves the little monkey puppet thingy who is the star of the story. We're huge fans of monkeys in our house so this book was a must-have. It's already one of his favorite books. I enjoy it for the vibrant colors and the sturdy board pages. I love the message that this story has. Just a great book all around.
A cute little story about a monkey, traveling through his jungle. Includes several of my almost 2 year old son's favorite things: monkeys, birds, bananas and butterflies. Lately I've been keeping it in the car as he does not like to sit down in his car seat, but I give him this book and he let's me buckle him in without much fuss.
Our son just loves all of the "In My..." books we've read so far ("In My Jungle", "In My Patch", "In My Ocean"). He loves when we move the finger puppet while reading and loves to grab at it. He squeals with glee when we read these books. There isn't much of a story to them, but it is great for when your little one is just learning to listen to the story. The finger puppet keeps them entertained, and the simple story line is great for short attention spans :)
This board book is short and sweet but perfect for the attention span of our 5-month old. The art work is wonderful and very colourful. We bought this for our baby but our 2-year-old enjoys when I read it as well. The monkey finger puppet excites both our children and since I am controlling said puppet I can make it turn toward each of them in turn; they love this and reach out to touch the monkey. The words are simple but there is plenty of opportunity for imagination and interaction like inserting your own monkey noises (which makes it more fun to read) or, in our older child's case, asking them to identify the snack the monkey refers to that he enjoys eating. We bought another book in this series as well and it was just as much of a hit with the kids. I would definitely recommend this book, and the others like it, to anyone looking for a way to engage your child, especially really young ones, in story time.
We have all of the books in this series. Such a sweet way to teach babies and toddles about nature and animals. Well made board books with amazing colors and sweet pictures.
These Sarah Gillingham books are so great! My 18 month old toddler waves hi to all the characters and gives the animal a big kiss when the book always ends with 'with my family'!! I highly recommend them. I actually need to stop buying them. We have too many.
I bought this book for my grandson. He loves it. He loves every page of it. He gives it to his Mom to read to him.
Got this for my grandson for valentine's day. It is perfect for one year olds who are learning to love books. You put your finger through the monkey and turn the pages. Sweet!
