I love reading this book to my 2 year old daughter. She runs around chanting about the 5 monkeys. I first learned of them from my daycare provider, and came to .com to find them. Thank you
This book threw me into a laughing fit when I read it to Max in the children's books section of one of the large bookshops in Singapore (the perfect refuge on week-ends during the rainy winter season). Max is two and a half years old, and he is very tolerant of his dad's monkeying around. To judge by the looks I got when I guffawed, it seems that most parents regard reading children's books as a serious matter.Anyway, kids have a great sense of humor, and they will enjoy it when you chuckle while reading this book to them. The little monkeys of the title are five clumsy but well-intentioned, lovable creatures that mess up the house while trying to please their mom. That is probably what happens to many two or three-year-olds who hope to do the right thing and end up spilling the milk when they try to assist mom. Enthusiasm combined with clumsiness can produce some rather chaotic results. "Five Little Monkeys with Nothing to Do" teaches parents and kids to see the funny side in such mishaps.Recommended for parents and children alike.
Any book you get for your child is a good book.I have a degree in English and happen to be a very big advocate for reading to infants. I now most people will not read Shakespeare, Poe, Keller or Rowling like I do, but I also love reading her children’s books.I have all the Monkey books for Azalea and she loves them. I find the pictures keep her interest as I read. She is always going for the Monkey books when she wants to be read to.Highly recommended…
We loved it. I ended up getting almost all of them. We had already purchased some of the books in the series from . They were so enjoyable that I went ahead and purchased the last one. Thank you!!
It's the summer holidays and the five little monkeys are bored. Just as in our house, if that word is spoken, there is always something to do! Grandma Bessie is coming for lunch so it is time to tidy up. First the five little monkeys "tidy" their bedroom, then the bathroom. The house is looking good so they head outside to pick berries. Guess what? They get a little dirty? Guess what happens next? They have to clean up and change their clothes once they have walked the dirt in which is this case is berry juice.Out they go to meet Grandmas Bessie who is so looking forward to seeing the clean house! Uh Oh! Who could have made all that mess?Ever happen in your house? It does in ours! Kids easily relate to this story as it is SO realistic!
We picked this book up from our local library.Yet here we are again with another funny monkey book. I really liked this one as it gave me ideas to use to get my son to do some chores. Being a parent I hear the "I have nothing to do" a lot especially during the summer when he is use to school. So reading this book I was like hmmm gonna have to try something like this the next time I hear those words. All the hard work the monkeys do only to end up back where they were at the beginning I can see why momma monkey needs help! Messy little monkeys. K's favorite part was the ending where all their hard work was a disaster.A repetitive book that is a great read for all and the illustrations are awesome.
My 2 1/2-year-old son loves this book, and all the other "Five Little Monkeys" books.
The original- 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed- is so cute and catchy. This book pales in comparison. While I don't know many kids books, (I have only one 8 month old) I would skip this book and look for one that has better reviews.
