In the reading the description of the book, it is evident that the author's intent was to create a simple text for young children and he did just that! The simplicity of the book is what makes it so appealing! Most non-fiction books for young children are written about animals and nature. While young children love to learn about science, few non-fiction books are available on other topics of children's interest. I applaud the author's understanding that young children want (and need) to read a variety of other subjects.This book allows children to learn all about drums while interacting with the text and will certainly inspire some drumming!I highly recommend this book to parents and teachers of young children!
I was very disappointed that every page has the SAME exact picture as the cover page. The picture has a filter placed on it from photoshop and is somewhat grainy, blurry, and distorted. It looks like this was made in the span of 30 minutes with just labels on the different drum parts. I would hardly call it a "book" and am going to return it.
