Cute book for kids!!! Love hearing my granddaughter sing, "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas!" Just awesome!! Thanks!! Would be nice if a "hippo" ornament was included with the book!! Just a suggestion!!
This is a neat kids book, and the illustrations are priceless. I gave it only four stars because the words to the song in the book don't match the words in the actual song. As a matter of fact, the words in the line about the garage don't even make sense to me. If you don't have the original record by Gayla, then this probably won't make any difference to you. You will still enjoy the book.
Just before Christmas I heard this song. I had never heard the song before in my life. My friend was obsessed with it, so I was going to buy him a stuffed Hippo. Found this instead, and it has the lyrics and funny artwork to go along with it. It was worth the price, and as usual, it arrived earlier than expected.
I bought this for my youngest niece since she repeatedly requested a hippopotamus for Christmas from me. So, I found this book on and immediately ordered it for her. My order came quickly and in good condition I was super excited! The book is adorable! I do not recall the one particular part in the book where the little girl is talking about cleaning her hippo in the garage as being apart of the song but, I am no expert and it's cute none the less. The illustrations are great! I laughed hysterically at the majority of them! I enjoyed the book very much and I am excited to give my niece this book for Christmas :-)

More than we expected beautifully Illustrated story follows the song that our daughter fell in love with perfectly along with a play and sing along piano version in the back of the book it's awesome now unfortunately I have to find a real hippopotamus for my daughter
I had bought 2 of these book's along with the stuffed hippo's to go with them as Christmas present's & were well received. I think the 2 mom's were more excited about when they helped the little ones open the gifts than the kids.
Got this as a gift for my wife who loves the song. Not until we saw it on You tube did we know that there was a book to go with it. Bought the book, it is on the book shelf as a write. Very well illustrated and the sheet music is at the end of the book
