I gave this book to my 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter for Christmas and it was an immediate hit. She asked to have it read to her right away and had great fun listening to the rhyme on each page and finding the answer to the rhyme in the artwork. The mix of paintings gives her lots of new images to look at and think about, very different from most of the pictures in her other books. The masterpieces pictured are definitely mind expanding while the rhymes are fun and their focus fun to find in the pictures.
We purchased this product for our three-year old grandson. And what a find it turned out to be!He went through the book with Grandma, finding the items I named from the text and then also finding items I noticed and named on my own from the picture. Then he immediately took the book to Grandpa to repeat the process. All three of us loved seeing the art work and watching for details. And the pictures have vivid enough colors to be easy on the eye (in contrast to other reviews of the "Can You Find It Inside" companion).As our little guy grows, we'll use the concepts for helping him learn to add "hidden" details to his own art.
An excellent book for teaching children that there is more to see in the world and starting them apperciating real art. Trips to the musuem could follow a reading of this book. Also a good book to read with the younger child to have a closer parental relationship.
