I'm relatively new to knitting, but thought I should be able to handle this, since the description said there were easy-to-follow knitting instructions in the booklet. Here's what I've discovered while attempting this project:1) Knitting needles are made of soft wood and are very flimsy. I haven't broken one yet, but I'm afraid it's inevitable. I found after opening the package that they suggest you have spare needles available to hold stitches.2) As a visual learner, the book really hasn't helped me. I've had to go to Youtube to get a clear understanding of what some of the knitting techniques actually look like. The pattern is also very poorly written, and they assume you know what certain terms mean (example: stockinette stitch).3) The intarsia technique was too difficult to figure out, so I went with a solid color yarn, since I figured it's just my lack of expertise. I'm still having trouble, because the booklet doesn't have many pictures or diagrams in it. Essentially, you're left to figure out on your own how the pieces should look step by step. I'm now stuck on the part where you're supposed to knit the neck and head and am about to give up. :( Oh well...at least it wasn't too expensive. Just disappointing because it's such a cute concept.

Haven't started knitting yet and must admit that the instructions look fairly complicated - even for an experienced knitter. But once I get it done it will be the ideal gift for my granddaughter, who is the caretaker of the miniature dachshund in her home.

This is a clever idea for a handy, crafted, person. I gave it as a gift to my sister-in-law, who fits that bill.Unfortunately, she gave her Dachshund away, and never mentioned this gift. I don't know if this kit was given away with the dog.

I am not a beginner knitter but this kit was not a guaranteed success in the slightest way. The needles too flexible, the yarn too stiff and the instructions even followed to the letter didn't work as a whole. The finished item on the picture looks really amateurish. I would not recommend this as a gift even though it seems like a cute idea.

What a fun "new puppy" gift for a knitter. Directions are easy to follow and using your own small beads for the eyes makes it just adorable!!!

I found this impossible for me to knit but it might be my fault. If you are not an extremely good knitter steer clear of these patterns.

Cute little project!Very challenging but a lot of patience and perseverance will produce your rewarding project.
