This would be hard for a first grader let alone a preschooler. My son is beginning to read and sound out words. This is much too difficult. The World of Reading Level 1 books are significantly easier than this, which is supposed to be for preschoolers. It should be labeled as a higher reading level.
This book has no story to it, it's just a bunch of names that to a 3 year old that might not have any exposure yet to Star Wars would not really care about.The book should be light on the obscure names (to a 3 year old) and instead introduce a couple of characters that go on a little adventure. The adventure should be something very simple, like rescue an Ewok.The book also describes many of the characters doing something violent such as breaking, fighting or in one case even "choking". They need to make it more light hear-ted for the young reader.I would not recommend this book for young kids.
My son loves to read these books and takes them to school and shares them with his friends who also like them.
