My boys are 4 and 6 and are obsessed with all things Star Wars. They haven't seen the movies yet and they are full of questions about the characters. This book is perfect to introduce them to the characters and their strengths and weaknesses. It has also been very helpful to me since my memory of the Star Wars movies is a bit hazy and they ask very specific questions. It rates each character's strengths in various categories and then you guess who you think will win the battle. Then you look in the back to find out the answer. It shows their ratings in graph form which translates perfectly to my kindergarteners math lessons. We read several of the matchups each night and they never get tired of them.

My boys, ages 5 and 8, can't get enough of the Head to Head series. The books match up two characters, who may or may not have ever met in the movies, describe and rate their strengths and weaknesses in battle, and then invite the reader to guess who the winner is. The author's answer is given on the back page, and often it's a surprise outcome. A little mom trick: for each matchup, one kid has to evaluate the numeric ratings (Strength, Agility, Courage... on a 1-10 scale) of the two characters and determine who is stronger, and who appears to be strongest overall. See what I did there?

Ben could not put the magazine down. He memorized all the facts the book presents. Picture fantasy sports league stats and you get the picture. The lad was even creating match-ups that the book didn't cover. He taught his grandmother who the different characters and monsters were. Anyone who knew anything about Star Wars was instantly engaged in "What if Darth Vader and Yoda battled?" You can find the answer in this book!

Each page is dedicated to a Star Wars character, ship, or vehicle, and gives them a rating stats in various categories; such as "speed", "strength", etc., and the reader then determines who they think would be declared the winner. I don't agree with the suggested age; I think it would appeal to those as young as six. It's a fun book for those that would like to imagine the outcome if characters such as Yoda and Darth Vader, and assorted other characters, were to ever duel.

[Based on my son's opinion: he is eight and a Star Wars expert. This book shows you Star Wars characters -- good vs. evil -- in imaginary match-ups. These fights are fun to read about. This is a good book to give a kid who needs to make a long trip. It includes almost all the characters. This is the second best Star Wars book we have.]Mom's opinion -- this keeps him totally engrossed for a LONG, LONG time. He loves it.

This is for smaller kids to enjoy. Basically it takes characters from the Star Wars universe and debates on who would win in a fight. Example Jawas vs Ewoks then list the strengths and weakness of each. Entertaining but very small with one large picture of the characters on each page.

Great book. My son enjoyed reading it over and over again. If it makes him want to read it must be good!

I bought this for my 7 year old son for his birthday and he hasn't put it down since. I am surprised by how interested he is in things and how much all his friends love this book too. Very wise purchase.
