The art and photography in this book are exceptional and certainly worthy of any Disney fan's permanent library collection. My family has been visiting Disney World since 1988 and this book brought back many fond memories of our trips and very rewarding experiences. The book demonstrated to me how changes have taken place over the years and how exhibits, rides, parades, etc. have come and gone for a variety of reasons.
Although some text is provided, this is a picture book showing the different resorts, attractions and events at Walt Disney World from today back through its grand opening. My edition starts in the late 1990s/early 2000s right at the opening of Animal Kingdom.The book is organized from the present to the early 1970s, so I read it from the last page to the front of the book. The text is more a series of figure captions, rather than a narrative, so there wasn't a problem reading it backwards. More details on this history and descriptions would have improved the book, but enough information is presented to get the basic story. The photos were professional qualtiy and the types of images you might find on post cards or in publicity materials.I would not use this as a resource to plan a trip to Walt Disney World, but for someone who has visited several times over the past thirty years it's great to look back on how things have changed. I really enjoyed remembering the attractions and resorts that have been eliminated or significantly updated at Walt Disney World (e.g., River Country, the Life pavilion at EPCOT, the Golf resort, and Captain Nemo's Submarines at Magic Kingdom).
I like the photos and the way this book is organized. It goes in reverse order from 1998, showing what was added to WDW over the years. Lots of pictures of things that are gone now, and some unique shots. Great addition to a Disney Parks collection.
