I'm donating my copy... I'm not really sure which age group this might be targeted for, since some of the topics are all over the place. I think mostly geared towards pre-teens (I'm 31). This was the only Youtuber book I've purchased because I love Louise's videos. I'm still happy I bought the book because it means I could support all she does. So even though the book is written with love, it really doesn't have any value for me.
Louise Pentland is leading a happy life and in her book Life With a Sprinkle of Glitter she gives her readers a lot of useful tips and tricks. It's a book you can read from beginning to end or you can open it at random and read something that interests you at a certain moment. Every page has a different design, so it's also a joy to look at. There's a lot of good advice for young girls, which makes this a perfect reference book with a sprinkle of glitter.Louise Pentland shows that everyone can achieve a certain level of happiness. It isn't something that just happens, you can make it happen. I'm all for being as happy as possible, so I was curious to see what Louise would recommend her readers. I loved how every chapter of this guidebook has its own theme and styling. I think the book is especially suitable for young girls as there's a lot of great first time advice. For example on how to throw a good party, how to set up a home, how to network, etc. Louise is like a big, caring sister who is always there to give advice. She's honest about herself, she describes her fears and her mistakes as well as her successes.I like the glitter aspect and being happy is indeed important, so I like the idea to turn it into a book. The advice is brief and not very deep, but that also wouldn't be fitting. I think it's all just right. I can see that Louise has given everything she's written about a lot of thought. I also love the designs and the gorgeous photos. It's like reading a scrapbook or diary instead of a regular book. I think Louise Pentland has written a wonderful and fun first book.
I love Louise. I love her YouTube channel. I didn't love this book. As a functioning adult it was quite a bore. I imagine as a teen this would have been a fun light read but it was essentially a long form magazine. I almost wish I had bought her planner instead because that feels useful.
Great book! I just wish it came in a hard cover version so i'm not afraid of it ripping every time i read it.
Love her sweet, fun personality. This book is cute and real, like Louise. She is funny and very pretty. Could have been longer.
