Every evening as my 7 year of daughter goes to bed, she has been grabbing my Kindle to read the Sugar Plums at night, going through a chapter at a time. Each chapter is relatively short, with about 6 - 10 pages each. The story is also interesting enough to keep her attention, without my worrying about other, older, topics which a lot of the books are covering. Nothing has been mentioned about "dating" or "boys".I was a bit surprised my daughter, who is pretty set on fairies and princesses lately, really took to this book. But I'm glad she's enjoying it, and we plan to buy the next few in the series for her.
I have given the Sugar Plum series as gifts and they have been well received. There are morals and values in the stories that are so appropriate for young girls today.
I'm a 9-year-old & in my opinion this book is a must have. If you like ballet & you like mystery/adventure, you will enjoy this book. .This book is part of a series called the " Sugar Plum Ballerinas." The series includes a group of girls that are very supportive of each other. In this book, one of the girls (named Jessica) finds a stray kitty in a garbage can and does not know what to with it. She takes it home and tries to find a place for it to live. When she brings it to ballet class to ask if it can stay in the building, a big problem arrives. This book also has a ballet terms guide in the back. This book has an evident moral which is: try hard and sometimes everything will fall into place. I can't tell you everything,you have to read the book to find out more.
Great book for youth to understand friendship and helping each other and have consideration for others feelings. Whoopi Goldberg really made reading easy and enjoyable, while teaching good traits and manners.
My granddaughter enjoyed it very much! Her mother reAd it to her. The characters were like her little friends who are now attending ballet lessons. She will be old enough next year!
My daughter has read every book out of this series multiple times. She really likes it. It has an amazing culturally diverse casts of characters as well.
I bought this series of books for my six-year-old daughter for Christmas and she literally read through them in a couple of days! Excellent Whoopi!
Started with the first book years ago, just browsing books and saw Whoopis' name. I always give books to my kids and nieces and nephews for Christmas.
