Education by its nature doesn't always encourage creative thought. Education calls for acceptance of certain facts. So how do you balance those facts with a sense of playfulness and wonder that makes learning fun for a young child? This book is the answer.Whimsical and educational, AlphaOops is FUN! It's just that simple. I've already bought copies for both my youngest nieces. Read this book to a child in your life or, if they're old enough, give it to them to read.
This is absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt THE best new children's book out! I love books that are not only great for children but entertaining for adults as well and this Clever, Funny book is for ALL AGES! It will most definitely be a classic and a must have for years to come. I LOVE IT!!!!
Before taking my older daughter to preschool, I sat down to read this book with my 5 year old and 2 year old. They loved it so much that they brought it with them in the car, and my preschooler wanted to bring it with her and share it with the class. She insisted that I read it to her several times, and now she's reading it on her own. I'm very happy with this purchase! :)
I bought this book for my 2 year old. He loves all kinds of books, but he doesn't really like this one. He'll sit and listen, but loses interest. The idea is cute. I like that it shows the alphabet out of "order" to reinforce learning letters, not just the alphabet song.
From the very first page I was in love with this book. It instantly connected to something I remember feeling in my childhood... the sense that there was something vaguely unfair about the "A" always going first. This book gives voice to that feeling of inequity. The old order must fall! X, Y, and Z's of the world, rise up and demand your day in the sun! Viva la revolution!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book to my son! It has a nice element of silly humor. Honestly I have gotten so tired of reading "normal" alphabet books that reuse all the same animals, etc for the different letters. This one is definitely unique and a family favorite.
My 4 year old loves this book and it has helped her learn some of the letters. The trick is to change your voice for the different characters and make Z seem really angry the whole time. She thought it was funny. It has cute pictures that go with the letters. Although it is a pretty long book and by the end I'm ready to be done. My 2 and 4 year olds love it though and it works.
This is one of our most favorite books to check out of the library, and even though the kids have read it several times they still greet it with a huge smile.Everything goes a little haywire in this delightful tale when A steps up to begin the alphabet and Z jumps in and complains about always being last. After a little negotiation, A agrees to let Z go first, and most of the other letters decide to switch things up too. The conversations between the letters are hilarious as are their disagreements, but as a parent my absolute most favorite part is the little scholar running across the bottom of the pages. This little scholar is doing his absolute best to follow the letters' commands and rearrange them as they dictate, but it's a hard job for a little guy to manage.AlphaOops! is a must-have for any family that likes to read and enjoy good books, and that's why it's on our Wish List. I would highly recommend this to anyone, but beginning readers will especially get a big kick out of it.
