My granddaughter can read words but suddenly decided she didn't want to read because her "Mommy" reading time might decrease. This book was my daughter's idea. Gela loves her Barbie's at 5 years old and this Easter she got the book because she was going to want to read it. And it worked!
I did not realize that this book would be for beginners and not more advanced than it was but my granddaughter still enjoyed it. She loves anything that is Barbie and loves collecting Barbie books.
This book was easy for my daughter to read and it helped to encourage further reading from her! This is definitely a favorite in our household.
The book was like amazing. I loved it. I love ballet . And I think other girls should love it.
One star for making my little girl read. No stars for everything else. Pink shoes make Barbie pink and glittery, two ballet dancers argue about which one of them will get married to her... the Barbie crowd missed a serious opportunity. They could have explained the stories behind one or two of the ballets mentioned in the text. But the names are just sort of dropped in, and it's not clear what the ballets are about, just that with the pink shoes, suddenly Barbie is some tutu-ed wonder. Fortunately this was a present. I am not impressed with these books. While I think it's good to get the kids reading, a book can actually say something. This is pink fluff.
