My daughter enjoys this series, and I have been reading a lot of her books. This is probably my favorite one yet of the I funny series. I Funny TV is the fourth book, I believe, in a series about a kid that lives through a bad car accident that kills the rest of his family. He can't walk anymore, and as he heals and adapts to life in a wheelchair, the staff at the children's hospital have given funny books and videos to try and lift and heal the spirit. He copes with his pain through comedy (which, is pretty much how a lot of good comedy is made). It sounds heavy, but these books are great. I don't want to spoil the plot, but he has great friends that stick with him as he adapts to life in the spotlight, and there's a lot of funny stuff peppered into the story. He gets a big head, but it all works itself out in the end. I think the author really kept it real with how a kid that age would deal with fame dropped in their lap. The books are written in a relate able tone for middle school kids. My daughter insists that I leave five stars ;)
This is about potentially true life experiences. The patience shown by the actor is very well understood and rewarded . The definition of true friends is well illustrated in the book. It definitely a different experience to be living with a wheel chair. Great read.
It is a challenge for my 12 yr old son to find books he enjoys enough to read through and through but Patterson delivers! A delight to hear giggling during his reading and seeing that it wasn't because he had sneaked on his Ipad to play games.
I don't read these books, my son does, and he loves them. He's 11 and has read this whole series. James Patterson is probably his favorite author right now.Also James is a machine and apparently never sleeps, because he's written like 35722789 books.... That may be an exaggeration.
My kids love James patterson! James Patterson is a great author for adults as well is children . My children love all of his books and the minute he has a new book come out my kids are all over it. These are nice heavy duty books that hold up well.
Such a great series of books that my tween and eight year old have gone through the entire series and keep asking when another book is going to come out. I highly recommend these books to anyone with children from 6 to 12 as they will love them!
My 5th grade son isn't a big reading fan, unless it's on a computer screen. He loved how funny this book is. I highly recommend it, especially if your child also liked the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series.
I haven't read but my 11 year old has been devouring James Patterson books for a few years now .. She loves them all and re-reads them over and over
