This is an excellent book for all ages! I'm an adult with no children, and I bought it for myself and for one day when I do have children. I love Disney, and these stories are so perfect! There is a short story-version of each of the 6 Princess movies (Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella) as well as Pocohantas and Mulan. There are also new stories about the 6 princesses as well. The book is hardcover, the edges of the pages are a shiny silver color so it looks really nice when it's closed. The cover is beautiful. The stories that summarize the movies use the original movie artwork. Overall, I love the book, and I can't wait to read it for story time with my children one day.
We bought this book for our 3 yr old daughter and is now her favorite bedtime book. She liked it so much that we bought another for her friend turning three.
Must have for the Disney princess fan. Predates Rapunzel, however the major disney princesses are in this book. Many great stories. My kids are 5 and 3 but I've been reading this book to them since they were 4 and 2 and no, the words aren't too big for them. If they ask, then it would be a great time to explain the meaning and expand their vocabularies. My daughters literally can't wait to get to bed to hear these stories. For variety, I have purchased the other Disney collections, but this one is by far the most entertaining.
This is a beautiful book! There are in-depth stories in the front of the book and short stories in the back. I purchased this to share with my granddaughter who, at the moment, is very young and has a hard time sitting through a longer read, so the short stories are what we are enjoying for the most part. The longer stories will be shared later and eventually this will be a book she is reading herself and then sharing with her kids someday. Definitely a keepsake!
I got this for my 2 and 4 year old daughters who love books. I would say that it is better-suited for an older child (6 and up), because it has A LOT of writing. I flip through the pages and hit-or-miss tell the story rather quickly to keep their interest. I definitely don't read the whole story. By the time I'm done with one, they are ready for the next one. It is one of their favorite books. It has a wide variety of princesses, not just the usuals. It also has classic and new stories. We got this for about $5, which you can't beat for a large, hardcover Disney book. We purchased two more (Christmas Stories and Disney Classics) and will be opening them on Christmas.
This is basically a bunch of the little thin story books combined into one large book. The hard back is thick and well bound and the pages are glossy, bright color, and thick. it is a well made book and truly a bargain (I got it for five bucks and it looks like you can ge them super cheap used at this time).My five year old daughter who is in love with all the disney princesses loves flipping through the pages and asking me to read the stories, which are simple, but fun for that age group.I appreciate the book because it is a storybook collection and minimizes clutter. Instead of a dozen small cheap storybooks, she has only one big storybook to put away. It made a good Christmas gift that has kept her attention for a month now, and I suspect will be beloved for many more months and maybe more to come.
I picked this up for myself when I was buying a gift for some other kids, and I am so glad that I did it. My 3 year old has been very "in" to the princesses for over a year, but has never actually seen any of the movies (they are a little too long, and sometimes scary for the little ones). This book was the perfect solution. The stories are the right length for bedtime. They each tell a story, and take the princesses out of the usual context of the traditional story. It is a huge hit!
Although the illustrations are beautiful, there are way too many words in this book. The description says this book is suitable for a 3 year old but I disagree. There are about 150 words on each page, and there's anywhere from 5-10 pages to each story. A 3 year old may enjoy looking at the illustrations, but they would need someone to read the story to them --- although I'm not even sure they would have the attention span to sit through one entire story. I would say this book is suitable for someone who is 6 or 7 years old or older. 3 stars for good quality and nice illustrations.
