I have just ordered 7 more books to keep on hand for gifts as I've already given away 8.Discovered this book when I bought it for my son. He was 3 or 4 when he got it. He's turning 6 now. He brought it in for "show N share" at school and the teacher wanted my ordering info. Mothers have made it a point to let me know that the book was the coolest gift they have received or even seen in a very long time. My 8 year old son loves it too!
I got this for my 4 1/2 year old before I saw it is for ages 8 and up. She had no trouble putting the robots together and spent a lot of time playing with them as well. I would say if parents don't mind the kids being a little rough with the robots this is a great project even for the younger set.
I started putting the robots together as soon as I got the book out of the box, and had assembled most of them with the package on the table. Ok, I'm a grown-up, but this was the most fun I've had in a long time, and the envelopes were fantastic. The only problem is I like the robots too much to send them to anyone.
These are made on heavy duty card board so they are not flimsy. I love that each robot came with its own envelop which made for easy gifting or using as party favors.
