We got this activity book for our 7 year old who is obsessed with Minecraft. The activities are pretty childish for his age (first grade). Was hoping there would be more Minecraft type activities, but it's just the standard mazes and other activities.
Lots of variety to the activities. It will definitely keep kids entertained and actually help them with some spelling, reading, matching, drawing, patterns , following directions and other similar skills! I was thinking it would be nice if this book was rated for an specific age group, but I've LOVED the content of each page so much that I couldn't possibly give this less than 5 stars. I know my Minecraft loving kiddos will ADORE this book. I love that they'll be learning all these skills without actually feeling like they're "working".
My 5-and-a-half yr old loves it. At this point, it's something we work on together. Lots of fun logic puzzles, crosswords, etc, which require more explanation and guidance for a young child. I like that the logic and math puzzles are worded like they will be in school, so he can get used to that kind of presentation and know what do to with it. He loves the cartoonish depictions of the Minecraft characters. Their expressions are great. Several pages made him laugh.
Bought this book for my 7 year old grandson as he loves Minecraft. It has really nice activities in it. He has really enjoyed it.
I've purchased this same book two separate times. Once for my son and then for my daughter. It is really cute for any Minecraft loving child. The activities are perfect to make them think while having fun at the same time. My son was bummed when he finished it.
We loved this so much that we bought it twice! It was full of great activities to keep our Minecraft kid entertained on 2 different road trips. He also pulled it out a few times while on vacation. We had a "juice" incident that ruined the first one so we bought it again. Looking forward to purchasing version 2 for our next trip.
It's high priced which I knew when ordering it. The Steve inside the book doesn't have the weird goatee that the one on the cover does; much more authentic. This is age appropriate for my Minecraft hobbiest, whom is 5. The mazes and trivia are age appropriate and relevant for him. The only exception being the word search which is only a couple pages. The quality is just standard coloring book quality so of course you pay more for the Minecraft name.
My 7 year old is a big fan of minecraft and puzzle/activity books so I purchased this because it was a combination of the two. Having said that, I think you have to be a pretty knowledgable Minecraft fan to solve the crossword puzzles. I had to pull out my Minecraft reference book and trusty ol' Google for some of these. I think he found it (and my poor grasp of Minecraft facts) a little frustrating.It's not a terribly thick book and seems a little expensive for the price. Having said that, the pages are of good quality, the paperback cover is fairly sturdy and there are a variety of puzzles to do. I'm sure Minecraft fans of any age will enjoy it. In the meantime I'll keep on studying Minecraft 101.
