I love that I can introduce suck great people in a relatable way to my 4 year old, Its a bit much for him right away but he already loves Amelia Earhart as she was the simplistic story to understand we have only read through each once or twice so far I am sure he will be very proud when he gets older and knows so much about these people already. I wish the other books were in a set as well so I could order them all together in a series of sets My only hope is that Brad Meltzer continues making these forever

I am now the most popular person at my granddaughter's school because when I bought my set, I bought a set for her school library, too. The teachers speak very highly of these books. The books are fun and inspiring, and are a great way to learn history in a way that empowers children to know that they, too, can change the world. My granddaughters pulls them out for us to read together whenever she visits me, too.

I am madly in love with this book series! My 4 and 6 y/o love them, but the text is sophisticated enough that an older child would enjoy it too! The illustrations are wonderful and the way the stories are written really make for an irresistible read. My kids also like that once the story is over, there are photos of the real person in the back. Im not kidding when i say that a few of them made me cry I was so inspired. We bought all of the ones out now (and I pre-ordered the ones coming out in September), and we read them over and over. You will not be disappointed with this set or any of the Ordinary People Change the World series!

As the mother of two young girls I was looking to add something more historical but still kid friendly to our library- this is perfect! My girls (4 years and almost 3) are engaged and excited when listening; I have fun reading them, and we all learn something!

I bought these for a three year old, a five year old, and an eight year old. The three year old was bored, the five year old was VERY interested and asked some questions and listened thoughtfully and I am not sure what the eight year old thought.Be aware that there is talk of racism, taking on bullies, and feminism, but this is the point of the books. They do have little sayings in each book, such as, "My face will be on the penny one day!" that the five year old repeated a couple of times.Overall, gave the result I was hoping for.

Fantastic books! Better than any history text you'll find in school, and kids love them, even at a young age. Being able to have conversations with my five year old about Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Rosa Parks and many more, and having him engaged and learning about these icons at such an early age, is priceless.

We bought it as a gift for our niece who is 7 and reads at a 5th grade level. She said she loved the books; as soon as she received this set, promptly read 3 of the 4! She said that they were pretty easy for her to read but was looking forward to using them as inspiration for her book reports coming up. Additionally, she felt that Amelia Earhart's story really spoke to her and is inspiring her to get better on her goal to skateboard better. :-)I will be getting the rest of the series for her to keep those fires of inspiration stoked!

These are such great books! My girls are 7 and 5 years old and enjoy these enough to ask me to read them often. They are a great way to teach about important people and events in history at an age-appropriate level. In addition to this boxed set, we have I Am Helen Keller. We plan to collect them all!
