We can all be heroes. That’s the inspiring message of this New York Times Bestselling picture book biography series from historian and author Brad Meltzer. Learn all about George Washington, America’s first president.   George Washington was one of the greatest leaders the world has ever known. He was never afraid to be the first to try something, from exploring the woods around his childhood home to founding a brand new nation, the United States of America. With his faith in the American people and tremendous bravery, he helped win the Revolutionary War and became the country’s first president.   Each picture book in this series is a biography of a significant historical figure, told in a simple, conversational, vivacious way, and always focusing on a character trait that makes the person a role model for kids. The heroes are depicted as children throughout, telling their life stories in first-person present tense, which keeps the books playful and accessible to young children. And each book ends with a line of encouragement, a direct quote, photos, a timeline, and a source list.

DO NOT skip getting this in hard cover. The pages do not look like they will rip easily, great dust cover, awesome drawings and fantastic learning lesson. I cant wait to pick up the whole series for my boys. MUST HAVE. Great lessons and history

Another hit from Brad Meltzer! My kids and I became big fans of George Washington because of the musical Hamilton, so this was a great way for them to learn more about him. He was a fantastic leader and our country owe's so much to him. So glad to have this book to rid to my kids anytime and my class for Presidents' Day along with Abraham Lincoln!

Brad Meltzer has an uncanny ability to bring complicated history into accessible language for children. I have all the books in this series and have yet to be disappointed with any of them. Brad Meltzer has given great attention to detail and taken his time on every single page. These books are also great for teachers who want to introduce their students to important historical figures (or teach them about biographies). Conceptually, they are appropriate for any level in elementary school! Great job!

A great snap shot of the history of our first president for any young one. Love the illustrations and the way it was written.

Please fix iPad compatibility. Not working on iPad Pro or iPad mini Kindle apps. Thanks.
