Obviously it's a book written for young adults but please keep with me! Anyone who has even a passing interest in Harley Quinn should be able to enjoy it. It's basically a biography (backstory) to Harley Quinn which covers things about her that the average person probably wouldn't know unless they had already read her very extensive wiki or are already a hard core fan. It nicely touches base and connects between the Batman the Animated Series cartoon, her first solo ongoing comic book series, Gotham City Sirens, Suicide Squad and then her second solo ongoing series without it being very intensive nor boring to the reader. It doesn't connect at all to the Arkham video games, DC Super Hero Girls or any other similar Harley that one may find out there. It obviously skips over the really dastardly things which she has done over the years (she is a multi-murderer after all) and this gives her more of a playful yet misguided woman in love over the Joker turned into a fighter for justice characterization. She's now motivated by whatever thrills can be had rather than any heroic sense of duty to do right and fight villains, which really leaves her as not exactly a good role model.I was rather surprised by this book even existing but they done a well enough job to make her kid friendly with existing canon. Yet honestly I would never give this to a child either unless he/she has their head on straight about life in general and "gets" comic books as entertaining works of fiction rather than sources for idolization. The three other backstories in this series (Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman) are better sources for idols, where as Harley is an obviously cash-in as she's DC's top female character at the moment and anything with her on it sells.
