My four year old loves to say each character and what they are for Halloween. The illustrations are great. Would not be the best intro to the delightful goslings but fun for the kids who know them well.
This book will get you and your child into the Halloween mood! The artwork is symbolic of Fall and Halloween, and go from small, simple drawings to more whole page artwork which really gets my son's attention.
I'm a big fan of Oliver Dunrea and thought this book was beautifully illustrated and very well written. It's suitable for a babies and toddlers and makes for an interesting read. It's less basic than some of the other Gossie & Friends books. Only downside is the cover. It's a stunning hardback but the paper cover over it gets trashed by my 15 month-old son, so I've taken it off.
How can you not love Ollie and his friends?? Sweet, simple story about Halloween. Simple words that will make this one of the first books a child can read on her own, after they have asked for it to be read to them time, and time again. It will be a favorite..

Any of Olivier Dunrea's books are marvelous and sweet. I recommend them all, and I buy them often as gifts for baby showers and children's birthdays.
Ollie and his growling pals celebrate Halloween "together". Poor Ollie seems to be left out of everything until the most important part, sharing the treats. Cute little book with delightful illustrations.
Ollie's Halloween is the perfect book for pre-readers and their parents to enjoy. It starts off by describing five little gosslings' Halloween costume choices, followed by their adventure they experience through the farmfields where they live, culminating with a feast of treats collected and shared by all. The illistrations are quaint and inviting, drawing the reader and listener alike into the storyline. The words are simple and direct, the perfect speed to hold a young child's attention to the end of the story. I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves to cuddle with their own curious little ones.
