My son received this hand-puppet board book as a gift for his first birthday. It is absolutely adorable. Each puppet is different and reflects the animals in the "Old MacDonald" song. The material is sturdy and the puppets are nicely stitched. My hand and fingers fit comfortably with room to spare for those who have larger hands. My son has enjoyed watching me move the puppets around and going through the book while singing the song. My only complaint about the product is that the book is rather thin. I though it was going to be a fabric book. I do not leave my son's board books out for him to go through whenever he wants because he chews pieces off and chokes on them. I thought that with this being mostly fabric and the book having Velcro that I would be able to allow him to play with it whenever. However, the book is so flimsy that it could probably easily be torn off of the fabric and get into my son's mouth. So until he's a little older and no longer trying to eat books, I'll definitely need to supervise him with this toy.
I purchased this book (along with several other books/toys) to help keep my 19-month-old son occupied during our flight from the west coast to Europe. He loves it! He likes seeing the animals dance when I wear the glove and likes reading the book. He even puts it on his own hand and gives it hugs. I would definitely recommend this book.
Okay, the kids love this and it's a lot of fun to play this with them. The thing is, the book doesn't add anything to the experience, and kind of gets in the way. I find us not using that part of it, and instead we just sing Old MacDonald with the finger puppets.
This book is adorable. It has all the animals that my daughter loves to run around the house making noises for - cow/pig/duck/cat/dog. My only complain is buyer error. I saw the age recommendation on the book but thought it was too cute not to grab. I purchased this for her for Christmas this year she is 2.5 years old and really into books, animals and finger puppets and thought this would be the perfect combination. She will keep interest when I read it to her and play along but she would much rather use the other finger puppets we own (they are not attached to books). I wish I had seen this 1-1.5 years ago it would have been perfect!
I have now purchased three of these books: one for my granddaughter, and two to give to friends for their little ones. My granddaughter has loved this book with the finger puppets since she was about 6 months old. She is 14 months old now and continues to bring this to me to sing the Old MacDonald song to her (she's not all that interested in the cardboard book) while I wiggle the fingers and make the animal sounds. She will pick it up and mimic the singing -- so cute!
I had bought an identical book years ago for my grandchildren who enjoyed it very much & I never thought I'd find another. Then I found this on while looking for a puppet loving little girls first birthday present. Little G just loved it! (Actually, not sure who enjoyed them more - the birthday girl or her parents LOL!)Highly recommend this for lots of great play time with your little one.
Purchased for a gift for just turning 3 year old but it was too young for her. It was really designed for an older baby about 3 months up to maybe 2 year old. I ended up selling it to a friend that needed a gift for a newborn. Cute though.
