Love this book! i think the author is so clever in the ways in which she "hides" Ellie. the pictures are colorful and bright and children from 1 year to older will love it. One reviewer stated that some of the things in the book her child didn't recognize...cowboy hat, teapot, etc. But what a wonderful way to introduce these new words to a youngster. that's what building vocabulary is all about. i am a big fan of the book!i also put the book at a baby shower along with the elephant blanket that i knitted. it was a big hit!
Nice board book, my daughter Ellie loves to look at and "read" every night before bed. A great purchase for Toddlers
Great little book. I'd recommend for 0-12 months old. Short simple story, about 9 pages long. Great drawings with bright colors and a great size book to take with you in a diaper bag.
Sent this as a gift for a 2 year old. I bought several elephant items on for the occasion. Quick delivery and easily done for me. Parents seem pleased with my selection and the little boy loves elephants.
My 15 month daughter loves elephants so this was my motivation for purchasing this book. My daughter is not interested in it at all. I found the artwork to be boring and perhaps a little bit too advanced for a young child. For example....is that Ellie behind the flowers? No, that's a garden hose. Another example.... is that Ellie behind the cactus? No, that's a hat. A young child does not really relate to a cactus or a garden hose and neither object are colorful or appealing for a young child to look at. This is the last book my daughter pulls off the shelf to look at.
Each Christmas I buy each of my children a book which I personalize inside. I purchased "Where's Ellie?" for my daughter Elsa nn Ellie. It is a great book. Nice size for a child, really good pictures, and cute story. I know she will be pleased.
My daughter is a year and this was one of the first books she liked. She is engaged and giggles at the pages when we interact and joke about where the elephant could be hiding. Started reading it to her at about 5/6 months and its still a favorite.
This book is really cute. My 5-year old is definitely not the target audience. He thought it was silly house predictable the book was. My 2-year old, elephant-obsessed daughter absolutely LOVES this book. She calls her elephant "Ellie" as well so it was enjoyable to find this book.
