Elmer books have an excellent message about accepting differences which is something the school I work in is constantly addressing with kids. This is a nice intro to Elmer for younger children-colors!

My son adores this book. We started reading it when he was four months old and he has never tired of it (he is now 16 months). I kept checking it out of the library until finally I decided it would be worth buying him one! He loves the adventures of the colorful patchwork elephant and can now point out all the items on the pages (the yellow lemon, the green grass, etc). This is one of the books he has consistently enjoyed and is happy to have me read it 5 times in a row every day!

I bought this to accompany the stuffed Elmer toy as a shower gift. I read the story to my 4 year old and she really enjoyed it. The book is cute, I contemplated keeping it for my daughter. I for some reason imagined it was one of those tiny little board books for babies, but it's larger.

I was very disappointed. The content was lacking. It was not a teaching tool as I expected. The colors described were not common colors. It really lacked any story. Not a book I would recommend-sorry.

Our infant son loves this book! He seems to really respond to Elmer and the bright colors he experiences in this nice little book.

Ordered this by mistake. I thought I was ordering the original Elmer book. This book is much shorter and there is not much to this book. It only touches on a few colors so it is not great for teaching colors. The children do pick this up but they do not spend much time with it.

A friend of mine suggested I get this book for my son when I was teaching him about colors. We also got the doll, which is very cute. Still, my son was not interested. He learned colors by sorting his cars with Daddy.

Elmer's Colors, is one of my favorite children's books and one of the first I looked for after my grandson was born. I also bought him a stuffed Elmer. It has a wonderful message! I highly, highly recommend it.
