I read this book to my second grade class originally trying to spark a little interest in the series from some of the reluctant readers in my class. I ended up reading all three of the books. The class LOVED them! The laughed at every funny duck situation, and the look really lends itself to voices, which made it fun for me to read aloud. All around wonderful!
This is a fun book for the children to hear and a rollicking book for the adult to read aloud. The photos complement the story perfectly. My reluctant reader reread all five in the series in *one day*. Do not discount how endearing these characters are simply because of the relatively small number of reviews.
This book is too funny! My granddaughter read it as part of a unit study of England. Sightseeing in London, via a book with Dodsworth, was a blast. She absolutely loves this book, and rereads it often. YAY!
Son has the entire series and he loves the books. The different places, cultures and customs detailed in each one expose him to the world outside that awaits. Can't wait to see where Dodsworth will end up traveling to next.
My son loves this book, even though it is pretty long for a 3 year old. It also is nice because it teaches him about places he has never been and maybe will make him curious to travel.
This is a very cute series that our Second and Third Graders are thoroughly enjoying. The wry humor does not escape them! I wish the author would have continued it throughout various cities around the world. I can promise you that when we get to the end of the last book, there are going to be some very disappointed children. It sets just the right tone.
Dodsworth in London allows your child to enjoy the joy of visiting London, without the long flight. I recomend this book.
