I was soo excited to get this book for our kids after seeing it on the a.m. news for christmas gift ideas. The idea is wonderful and the book is well made, pigs are too cute, BUT I was disappointed to read the pages to find they changed the story. I know it said in thier own review "a kinder gentler version of the story", but I had no idea what to expect?I do not see the need for this at all. Whats wrong with this little piggy ate roast beef, this little piggy had none? It reads...this little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home, this little piggy ate cookies, this little piggy had fun, this little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home. As cute as that IS, its NOT the story we all grew up with, so thats my only complaint. I wish they had left the story alone.
This is such a cute idea - I purchased one for my four month old twins boys, and then another for my friend's one year old little girl as they were visiting recently and she absolutely loved it, laughing and smiling when we would play with it and then she carried it around, wherever she went, for the rest of the evening! Highly recommend...
My 11 month old likes to read this story over and over. She also likes to chew on the piggies. She is teething so this works double time. It comes with a nice plastic case for when it isn't being used as well.
I love these hand puppets books for children. I bought them to have for my nephew after his birth last year and he loves it when we tell the story and have the puppets as great visual effect. I strongly recommend.
I found the "Old MacDonald" one at a yard sale so I bought this one on here because they are so handy for the diaper bag. It's a great toy for a waiting room or on a plane or any time really! My daughter loves them! I did not give it 5 stars because we do not actually use the book and it would be awkward while the glove is on. This is a great, quality product for the money and I will give these books as gifts in the future.
I bought this for my 1-year old nephew and he loved it at Christmas. The glove fits his mom's hand perfectly and he laughed with joy at the wiggling piggies. It is surprisingly well made for a ten dollar price.
Fit on my hand well. Did not really read the book itself, but just said the nursery story and wiggled each little piggy when his time came! Also got him the Old McDonald Had a Farm Hand-Puppet Board Book, and that was an even bigger hit, causing my grandson to say his first real word back to us: "Dog!"
This is an excellent puppet book. Each of the pigs has a different facial expression, and each matches in color to the one in the book. The pages in the book are of very good quality and are glossy. My 4 month old baby stopped crying as soon as she saw it, she was engages and tried touching the pigs and even turn over the pages. Given its low price, I would greatly recommend it especially because it comes as a glove so you will never loose the finger puppets.
