I am always looking for Spanish books for my sons in Spanish immersion to read for book reports. This is a beautiful book and the story of how the ancient Mayan stories were lost and then found again is fascinating. The book introduces a whole new mythology and world view that would be particularly interesting for kids who like myths. The language was somewhat challenging for my 7th grade Spanish immersion son but it is reasonablely accessible and the pictures are stunning.
This is an excellent book for students who are approaching this text for the first time. The Spanish version is very well targeted to Intermediate level students of the language. It is also great for reading to children or young adults who speak and understand the language. The illustrations are excellent!
Although a translation, and we know that all translations pale in comparaison to it's original, it should be a required reading book for anyone under the age of 18. Just like The Art of War, by Sun Tzu. Although they are unique to their individual gender, these two books should rest in everyone's library.
I thought that I was buying a brand new copy of this awesome book. When I opened the package I notice that the book has some spots in the back cover.
