We had the privilege of going to see the Terra Cotta Warriors when we were in China for our daughter's adoption since her home city was not far from Xi'an, and we stayed in Xi'an to complete her adoption. When I saw this book, Hidden Army: Clay Soldiers of Ancient China, at one of my kids' school book fairs, I bought every copy they had on hand. Turns out you can buy it on , so I didn't need to go all crazy that day. Combining real photos with illustrations, it tells the story of this amazing site in the middle of China including diagrams of how the site is laid out and the history behind it. Held my children's attention. Very nice pictures and very good information. They touch on the emperor that created the clay army his tomb and the great wall of China.
I actually went to China this past summer and seeing the clay soldiers in person was an awesome experience. I bought this book so I could share the information with my art students.
Great, easy read for my kids (6 & 8). I ordered this book just before a vacation to China and it was nice for them to learn more about the Xian soldiers.
I gave this book to my 8-year-old granddaughter who truly enjoyed the book. Danika wanted to share the book with her teacher.
