This is a cute book about many of the various gods and goddesses of Greek, Roman, Norse and Egyptian mythologies. Depending on what you already know about these deities the information ranges from instructive and humorous to confusing; best used in addition with other resources.
What better endorsement can you have when your daughter automatically wants to order another book by the same author Very easy to read, great explanations kept her hooked during the entire book
One of my 4 grandson's has all the Basher Books. They 're 're all marvelous and it's no accident that he 's the most kowledgable and interesting if them all!
This is a wonderful book written to be very understandable to chidren, however, it retains most of the relevant and pertinent information (disclosure: my knowledge base primarily involves Norse mythology and I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the Greco-Roman and Egyptian mythos, but I assume it is at least as good as the Norse section). As an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed reading through it and my children are enjoying it now as well.
Perfect for kids and for you too; if you'd go to Wikipedia to look these up, this is probably as much relevant info.
Engaging and entertaining to my 8 year old. He has recently developed an interest in this topic and wanted to know more. This book has given him what he wants to know without overwhelming him.
My son is a huge fan of these books. They teach a lot about their topics in a funny way for kids to understand. They come with a poster for their wall and have so many fun details.
my kids LOVE this book. Lots of great information presented in an easy and fun way. This is like a little reference book for them and they refer to it often.
