We are collecting the entire series. My thirteen-year-old son especially loves these books. He's been reading them since he was in the third grade, being an advanced reader. We have read them together as a family. We enjoy the characterized illustrations that David Antram creates for this series, and the "handy hints." Every time I order something from , I always add a David Salariya book. These books are extremely historically accurate. David Salariya has historians write the story line for each book, putting YOU in the story as one of the historical figures. We use these books for homeschooling. They can be a tad-bit graphic, however history is like that. I highly recommend this book.
Great Collection! My 12 yr old son loves it! This book brings to life the history and describes so many aspects of being a samurai in such vivid illustrations and such a great approach to the young. Hope to buy many more.
We read this before visiting a Samurai exhibit at the museum and it was the perfect introduction. My children loved the style of the book and the illustrations. I appreciated the fun way that the historical information was presented. I highly recommend it for children in the 5-12 age group.
This was a gift for my grandson, age 12, but in fact my son, a scientist, loved it too.
