THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION HAS BEGUN—AND RUSH REVERE, LIBERTY THE HORSE, AND THE TIME-TRAVELING CREW ARE READY TO RIDE INTO THE ACTION!Join us on this incredible time-travel adventure!Liberty, my wisecracking horse, our old friends Cam, Tommy, Freedom, and I are off to meet some super-brave soldiers in the year 1775. Yep, that’s right. We’ll be visiting with the underdog heroes who fought for American independence, against all odds—and won! But not before eight very real years of danger and uncertainty. Be a part of Rush Revere’s crew as we rush, rush, rush into a time when British rule had become a royal pain, and rebellion was in the air. We’ll be on hand to see two lanterns hung in the Old North Church, prevent a British spy from capturing Paul Revere, and grapple with danger at the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill. The extra special part of this trip is that right here in the twenty-first century, Cam’s dad is a soldier fighting in Afghanistan, and Cam has been pretty angry that he is away. Visiting with exceptional American heroes like Dr. Joseph Warren and George Washington, racing along after Paul Revere on his midnight ride, and seeing the Declaration of Independence signed make Cam see his own dad in a new and special way. But don’t worry. Along with the danger, excitement, and patriotism, there will still be time to stop for a delicious spinach, oats, and alfalfa smoothie. No, wait—that one’s for Liberty. The kids and I voted for strawberries. Now let’s open the magic portal to the past!

If you like time travel books--and especially if you like historical fiction, you will love RUSH REVERE AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. It's certainly a patriotic book, but not a political book, in the modern sense. It doesn't matter your political persuasion--this is just a fun, good read--great for kids, or in my case, grown-up kids.A small gang of youthful Patriots, led by this funny man with a big head, called Rush Revere, go jumping back into time to explore events around the American Revolution. They usually get to the time and place they want, but Liberty the horse sometimes jumps off a bit.I especially like the accompanying artwork. Some of the artwork are original illustrations, but others are actual photographs of important historical sites.Although the book is very light-hearted, some of the photographs reveal what life was really like back then. For example, the picture of a surgeon's saw was very sobering. All in all, RUSH REVERE AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION is a very creative book, making history come alive in an exciting and unique way. Honestly, I had no idea how I missed this series. This book is funny, original, and just a fascinating read. Highly recommend!

For those readers who enjoyed the first two volumes of the Rush Revere Seriesthis third book in the series is going to be a real treat. The quality of writing, drama and humor is infinitely better than the first two books that introduced the American History series to the public. In ten chapters and 244 pages Rush Limbaugh actually writes with a newfound zeal and power. Climbing the darkened interior of the Old North Church Steeple with Robert Newman, the church’s caretaker, in order to hang two lanterns to signal Paul Revere that the British Red Coats were coming by sea to Charlestown is beautifully written. The reader can actually feel the danger of the steep staircase steps while having to remain quiet and not attract British Patrols to the totally dark church. Later when Rush and his students are discovered on the wharf where Paul Revere and two Patriots have just left Boston to sneak beneath a British War Ship blocking their path to Charlestown, the tale of how Rush Revere’s magic horse Liberty saves the day is so funny that this reader was chuckling out loud as the comedy unfolded on the book’s pages. It’s an unforgettable piece of comedy that I won't spoil by relating here. Both children and adults will thoroughly enjoy this latest addition to the Rush Revere American History series. The book is full of important history as well as drama, comedy and the moving emotional experiences of a child learning why his father is away fighting for his nation. Dr. Joseph Warren sums up the main theme of the American Revolution thusly:“Do all you can for liberty, and never give up, no matter the sacrifice. Freedom is the basis of all things. Without it we have nothing.” This is yet another page-turner of a book about American History. It’s intended for children and young adults but it’s magic will enchant older adults as well. The story and action rolls along as smoothly as a fall leaf floating down a spring fed brook.

I am thankful for this wonderful gesture to the families of those that serve our United States. Rush told the story of my childhood. It was hard to watch my Father leave home for military service and miss him every second of his absence. Now I'm serving and closing out a 17 year career in the military. I can't recommend this book enough!! If you know of or have family that serves the military, buy this book and pass along a powerful message, there is a child out there that needs to know why there military parents heed the call of duty to their country!

Another gem! The kids love these books and this one is special on that it helps explain to children of deployed members why they have to be away. I have the other books and not only are they well written, the quality and illustrations are way above most other kids' books. Ignore the one-star idjits. They're from haters who have not picked one up and are serial drive-by reviewers. In reality kids have been calling asking for more books as they love the horse in the books!

Rush Revere and the American Revolution: Time-Travel Adventures With Exceptional Americans by Rush Limbaugh is a hoot! This actually a very interesting and unique book. I checked it out and started reading. It is truly amazing. I was amazed. Rush Revere tells it like it was and with patriotic fervor tempered to inform, enthrall and savor in. I love it.What makes this book work is the time travel factor. It gives you a unique perspective. The narrative comes alive and so does the history. The reader lives it.

Very entertaining and I am always surprised at how much I am learning. If only history had been this interesting back in the day.

Excellent entertaining and educational read for kids and adults too

Purchased for my 12 year old grandson, he loved it. Plan on purchasing subsequent releases as well.
