It's Father's Day and Froggy is excited that the wait is finally over. He made a special present for Dad at school and now he is cooking breakfast! For those of you who have read other Froggy books, you will know that not everything in Froggy's life goes as planned. This book is no different. As he is cooking breakfast, an egg drops on his foot and his dad, waiting in bed, asks what the funny smell is?! Being a great dad though, he graciously accepts the breakfast, egg shells and all, saying thank you for the lovely breakfast!Froggy knows that golf is his dad's favorite game so once breakfast is over, announces that he is taking his dad to play golf. Dad realizes that Froggy is too little to play regular golf so suggests they play miniature golf. Just like a typical kid though, once they get to the fun park, Froggy sees other things HE wants to do. Kids will enjoy the antics of the day and the interaction between him and his dad. They do get to play miniature golf later in the day but watch out for that ball!Back at home, Froggy's mom has cookies ready for them and Froggy gives dad his present. I personally think this is one of the better Froggy stories and a great one for dad's to share with children or vice versa.
This is a very cute book that I gave to my brother to read with his son who is 2 years old. My brother is a golf fanatic, and he is already teaching his son, so this is a perfect story for the two of them to bond with. His wife says that this is now my nephew's favorite book and that he doesn't stop talking about Froggy and golf.
Seriously...the lady at the grocery store recommend this book for our toddler and I can't tell you how much he seems to like it. It's nice to get a chance to read a children's book that doesn't insult children's intelligences.
Our family loves all the books in this series. We started with froggy gets dressed when my daughter was 2 and now she is 6. She was requesting more Froggy books. They are priced so good that we got her 6 more for her birthday and she loves them all!! Her dad and I enjoy reading them too! Great author and illustrations. Good for new readers too!
This is a great book and I got it for my son and husband to read on fathers day.Some Froggy books can be a little annoying, but this one is just cute.
Children are sure to relate to Froggy's forgetfulness, impatience, and fears. His adventures are wonderful. The repetitive text and funny sounds will encourage readers who are sure to be attracted to the hilariously expressive illustrations. I love these books!!!
I had never heard of the "Froggy" books before until one day I was at a book fair at school. I read through the book and new it was something my (at the time 3 year old) would enjoy. He likes frogs and being with his daddy. It turns out his teacher read it to him, so he knew about the book. I purchased the book and wrapped it up so the "school santa" could give it to him. He was so excited he cried when he opened it,however...in the excitement of the last day of school before Christmas, his book was stolen and no one seemed to know who had it. My son cried for 2 days. I went on line to , found the book, and had it wrapped and under the tree with a note from Santa. My little boy was so excited he could have cared less about anything else. Thanks to the writers of the book for making a great series (there are more Froggy books available) and for getting it to my home the day before Christmas!
I bought this for my 2 1/2 yr old grandson. He loved it. I'm sure it helped that his Dad and Poppy both a avid golfers.
