My 14 month old was engaged by this book and really liked the frog. He is a pro at turning the flaps over. But, he prefers other books by this company for babies like Babies Love Animals. My son was impatient with the length of the rhymes and the images were not as engaging for him. Honestly though, my son needs to read books with more words per page and with more complex scenes - it builds literacy and discrimination skills. By 16 months, my son was able to get through the book and enjoyed it more, but its still not a favorite because its more of a chore for him then the breeze through baby books. So it may be a developmental stage thing. Personally, I found it a bit of a tongue twister at times (especially when I am tired) so it really gives my brain and mouth a workout.
My Grandson is a year old as of this week. He LOVES any book by Ginger Swift! I think I have bought all of them at this point. He loves the interaction and the subjects. I hope she comes out with more books soon!
The flaps aren't flimsy - they're perfect for toddlers!
