Fellow Umi-parents: I suggest you find a different book to make your Umi-friend happy. My ~3yo daughter is a HUGE Team Umizoomi fan, so I thought a book with her favorite characters would be umi-rific. As I expected, she wanted me to read it to her as soon as she saw it. Unfortunately, it is not an original storyline, but rather is just an abbreviated version of one of the episodes. If you know the episode by heart, as my daughter does, then you might feel like parts of the story are left out (as she did). If you don't know the episode by heart, then the story feels very thin. In fact, it is so thin on cohesive storyline, that my daughter has never asked to have this book read to her again, which is very telling considering that she pretends to be Team Umizoomi every day. I read lots of children's books to my kids, and obviously books for very young children are going to be more simplistic. This book however, is not just simplistic, it is anemic, and judging from my usually Umi-obsessed daughter's reaction, boring.

My girls (ages 3 and 6) love Team Umizoomi and we have a ton of the episodes on our DVR. They are always requesting the show. The show is great for its vivid colors and fun songs. The shows and the books always have a positive message and teach kids about math, counting, shapes, patterns and teamwork. They are very educational. The book is about the group playing with a dog named Buster who get lost and the team must work together to rescue him. This book is a very simple reader. I would say it is on the easy end of the level 1 readers out there and would be great for your a young child that is just starting to read. The words are very simple and primarily consist of basic sight words which will build your child's confidence in reading. The art is great and it includes some stickers. It will not be of much interest to anyone over the age of 5.We have several great Team Umizoomi books in our collection of readers and bedtime books and this one is no exception. This is a highly recommended addition to you child's collection of early readers.

This was a good book for kids learning how to read, but it got quite boring after awhile and didn't seem to hold their interest. My grandkids prefer to watch the TV show as they like the action that it has. Probably won't buy anymore of these books. Had to buy one to find out just what to expect.

Another cute Umizoomi book. Consistently good quality, entertaining story that holds the child's (and my) interest, and conveys a valuable life lesson. Long live Umizoomi! I give this book a 5-star rating for all the above.

Daughter loves the book and has nice big print for her mom who is visually impaired. Stickers in the back are a great addition for the value as umizoomi stickers can be hard to find The story is also very cute.

This book has some words more difficult than beginning step 1 readers. You will need to help read this one.

Cute book.. Not too long.. Colorful pages. My 2 and 4 year old love to read it before bed, and I love that it doesn't take too long since they request about 3 books before we turn off the light. :)

Nice Level 1 reader, although very basic wording and sentence structure makes for a simple story. But for kids who enjoy Umizoomi, it's a nice addition! Plus, the stickers were a big hit!!!
