The preferred choice of books for our nearly 2 year old! The colors are great, good story, and the books are sturdy. His favorites are Bear About Town, and Bears Busy Family. But he does like all the series and is beginning to read because of them we believe. Our 5 year old who began reading at 2, reads these to our youngest as well and he still enjoys. Any Bear series is recommended by us.

We have all the other bear books, so when I saw there was a new one out, I bought it right away. Like the others, it's very sweet and fun, with bright, happy illustrations. Bear and a friend take a trip to the mountains, and along the way we learn about time. Each page has the time of day written digitally, e.g., 7:00 am, and there is also a clock in each picture, e.g., Bear's alarm clock, showing the time in analog form. At the end of the book there's a detailed explanation of how to tell time.My boys are 4 years old now, but telling time with an analog clock is still a bit beyond them, though they try to understand it. Younger children might get even less out of that part of the book. But it's a nice story even if you ignore the time-telling aspect. There are different modes of transport shown (walking, bus, train, a bit of implied hiking from the train to the cabins, and sailing & climbing at the end). Bear's cat stays home, but a bee gets interested in a poster of the mountains at the train station and comes along on the trip. My kids wanted the book to be longer -- they wanted to hear more about Bear's vacation. At the end of the book it says "Bear wants to stay here forever and ever!" and that has become a catch phrase for us. A delightful book!

We love this book! Our eight month old daughter got it for Christmas and she always chooses this one to read over and over again. The pictures are so bright and fun and the rhymes are smooth and easy to read (over and over again lol). We will definitely be looking to buy some of the other books in this series. This is a book that appeals to a wide variety of ages as our eight month old loves it right now but the clocks and time will be educational when she's a bit older.

Read this book with my granddaughter countless times over the past weekend. The colors are vibrant and there are lots of illustrations that are of interest to a toddler/young child. Whether they enjoy pointing out the buses, trains or bears - it definitely holds a young one's attention. The story is about a bear going on a trip with his friend and all the adventures they take on.Great quality board book that I give 5 stars.

This is the newest addition to my baby boy's library which completes the collection. Bear's books have been his all time favorite since he started "reading" his first bear book "Bear's Birthday" around 10th month. Now he is 22 months and still loves these books. Vibrant colors, familiar scenes, and a lot of things to pick up for a growing mind at different stages. The quality of the board book is good, although I have done a few repairs already due to active daily use by my son. I will recommend this book and the whole series to everyone with a baby who just starts reading!

I am surprised this book is not more popular, because when my son was 3.5 to 4, he was absolutely enamoured with this book. It describes the day that Bear traveled to the mountains. Each page has a analog clock for time. The first page of the book has a map of bear's whole trip. The picture is wonderfully colorful and vibrant. Between this book and http://www..com/The-Berenstain-Bears-Catch-Bus/dp/0679892273, my son learned how to read the clock before he turned four.
