My 8 year old daughter fell in love with this series. The only thing is that she is on a 6th grade reading level, so she read the whole series in less than a week. She does reread them though and loves the fact that she owns them all.
My 7 year old loves this series. She is obsessed with mermaids and I'm so happy we found the series to help her make the jump to chapter books. She does read a bit above her grade level (currently in 2nd), so this may be more on level for 3rd grade.
Looking for a good book for your young child to read? My 6 year old daughter loves this book. She is able to read at a fourth grade level and finding appropriate but interesting books for her has become a bit of a challenge. This book series does the job. Each story deals with a different mermaid. Each story is interesting and has held my daughter's interest.
I loved reading this with my daughter! She delighted in the age-appropriate story that was unfolding. The authors' use of simple wording, with a few "harder to read" words mixed throughout, really made the book an enjoyable read for my daughter. Also, a few pictures in each chapter help keep the little readers attention! We love the entire Mermaid Tales series and cannot wait for the next book! Every little girl LOVES mermaids and that keeps them reading.
My daughter loves this series. After finishing several fairy books, the mermaids were a nice change. She will be starting 2nd grade in the fall and the book seems to be geared toward 1st and 2nd grade readers.
This is a cute book, aimed at readers just ready to start reading chapter books. The illustrations are wonderful full of imagination. Your little one will let lost in the story and feel like they are having a dream. Mermaids are as popular at our school as princesses and fairies. This was a cute book it might be on some little one's Christmas buying list.
