Hark! A Shark!: All About Sharks (Cat In The Hat's Learning Library)

In this latest installment of the Cat in the Hat's Learning Library, the Cat introduces beginning readers to all kinds of sharks! From the smallest (the dwarf lantern) to the largest (the whale shark), the most notorius (the great white) to the most obscure (the goblin), the Cat explains why sharks have lots of teeth but no bones; how their tough skin helps them swim fast and stay clean (inspiring scientists--and bathing suit manufacturers!); how pores along the sides of their bodies help them sense prey; that they have more to fear from us than we do from them, and much, much more! Perfect for shark and Cat (in the Hat) fanciers, fans of the new PBS Kids preschool science show The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! will sink their teeth into this new addition to the series!

Making a shark centric birthday box for my grandson and this is a great addition. Lots of information about sharks in the fun Dr. Suess writing style. The illustrations are fun too and make a good counterpoint to National Geographic shark photos book and other author's elementary textbook style. So glad I saw and purchased this!

Any shark lover needs this book. I was impressed with all the facts about every shark. They write details about the whale, leopard. Angel, nurse, hammerhead, goblin, lemon, blue, tiger, whitetip, and great white sharks. From tagging to having pups. Everything is covered in this book.A must have for a shark lover.

As a teacher and a mom, I love this book! it has a good message about sharks and has many educational facts in the traditional rhyming style known to be used in the Cat in the Hat series. I also bought the Baby Aspen Four-Piece Gift Set (shark towel, slippers and bath puppet) with this book!

My kids love animals and of course sharks. Had to get this for them, even though they knew a lot of it already. Talks about a wide range of sharks and ends with the dangers facing sharks from humans hunting them.

What a cute book. I ordered it to leave in an ocean front condo for children to read, and I was so enthralled by it, I ordered the whole set. Charming and educational in typical wonderful Dr Seuss rhymes.

I've always loved Dr. Suess books. I read them to my kids, they read them to their kids, I love reading them to my grandkids. I love the experience of reading them aloud, the rhyming cadence that is only Dr. Seuss. I love the imaginative stories, the gentle lessons. And then along comes this one. This is NOT Dr. Suess. This book reads like somebody gave a half-hearted effort to kind of “get it” and imitate Dr. Seuss, and it is an epic fail. It doesn't read like a Dr. Seuss book, the cadence of delivery is absent, the rhyming is clumsy and contrived. The subject matter goes way beyond the comprehension level of any child who is of the Dr. Seuss books age. The contents of the book simply don't work with a Dr. Seuss book, and I'm really disappointed in the publisher for putting this book out under the Dr. Seuss name.

Dr. Seuss books are one our favorite bedtime stories, and we are so happy to have this Hark! A Shark!: All About Sharks book from the Cat in the Hat's Learning Library in our own personal library! Book is a well made hardcover the typical size of most Dr. Seuss hardcovers. It is a bit long for a bedtime story, but my 3 year old still seems to enjoy it. Gives lots of information about sharks, different kinds, parts of the shark etc... I love the fact that they are using the fun aspect of a rhyming book and incorporating knowledge in to it. These cat in the hat books are a must have for any child's library and the shark one is especially nice to sink your teeth in to. I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review. Thanks

Pretty good book. My 3 year old wanted a book about sharks. I got her this, as we also have 2 other cat in the hat science books. It does does include a bit on humans killing too many sharks and shark fin soup just so you know.
