My 8yo son was feeling frustrated with his drawing skills. We got this and another Christopher Hart drawing book for him, and he loves it. He's able to follow the steps to draw the animals. He enjoys practicing his drawing in his sketch book now.
If you are an adult and thinking about this book, don't let the 'Just For Kids' stop you from buying this book. The drawings taught in it are just as involved and good as his other books. And once again Mr. Hart delivers the goods in his straight forward and easy to follow teaching style. Of course the text is written to the 2nd thru 6th grade reading level, but that doesn't detract from the info you will glean from this book and the fun you will have learning from one of the best Art Authors in the business today.
The book has a really Kidsy theme but the drawings are still too complex.I was looking for a book to get a kid drawing that look like animals.My 7 year old got frustrated and we might come back to this in a few years.
This is very good book for both kids and slef-learning adults. I like to draw the animals from this book.
