Wonderfully detailed line drawings to color. Each has an historical note and date. My only caveat is that felt pens bleed through the paper so crayon or pencils only.

I bought this coloring book as a birthday present for my eleven-year-old son, who is really into art, history and drawing. He absolutely loved it! The illustrations are very detailed and not at all cartoonish. He uses colored pencils, which I would recommend over crayons or markers for this particular book. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in historical costumes, too.

A lot of the pictures were of knights wearing chainmail which if realism is your thing, that silver and gray pencil/marker/crayon is going to be worn down to a nubbin. Of course, you can always use a vibrant neon pink for the chainmail. I just think a little heads up is helpful on art books you can only preview a few pages on.

I love love love these coloring books! My favorite thing about these books is that are good enough to frame when you done with the picture!Colored pencils work best on these books!!Relaxing coloring book for adults!!! I'm a mom of 2 and at the end of the day this is my escape...Recommend to all adults ...men and women! Not for children! Teens may like them!If your very impatient this book is NOT for you! Please let me know if my review helped you in your purchase !

This coloring book is filled with detailed illustrations of knights and armor (including great captions explaining the time period depicted and the function of the armor). As referenced by others, the pictures are detailed and there is even a glossary of terms so you know what you are looking at (almost all of which were new to me). If I had to lodge a complaint it might be that the majority of the pictures are a little static in that they simply show a knight standing there rather than engaged in some action or battle, but then perhaps this is the best way to give the effect of their armor. Also, the kids REALLY love it so nothing missing from their perspective.

A.G. Smith's Knight's and Armor Coloring book is a brief but fun trip back into the pomp and power of the middle ages. Inside you will find laid out over forty pages a wonderful assortment of: English, German, French and other knights in full regalia drawn up in a detailed, accurate and breath-taking fashion that one cannot help themselves but to enjoy. Simply beautiful to look at.The book provides the reader with a detailed image of the knight, and then a small foot note of information at the bottom of the page, it provides a fun source of entertainment to look over and enjoy the illustrations whether you choose to attempt to color within the detailed lines or not. While some have chosen to color their pictures and/or display them, I myself have not, and prefer to keep the book intact and uncolored for future glances that make me smile. What one can do is photocopy the images for coloring so as not to ruin the integrity of the book.In all a fun book that children will enjoy and at such a low price with great artwork adults can appreciate.

I really like to color, eeven tohough i am an older person. A whole lot older than thirteen. 47 to be exact. Just please dont repeat that HaHa. Any way from all ive seen and have received i have really enjoy. I cant find theses kind of coloring books any where else.Thank you very much. and age isnt an factor.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in knights. The illustrations are tightly rendered with precision and detail, and appear to be historically accurate. In order to retain the details in each drawing,I recommend coloring the images using quality colored pencils instead of crayons. This coloring book was purchased for my 11-year old nephew to accompany a collection of PAPO knights. He liked the coloring book, but appreciated the actual figurines more. However, I loved coloring in his book along with him, and from that, he learned how to overlap and mix colors for added depth.
