While it can take awhile to finish a picture, the payoff is well worth it and keeps you wanting to do more. I've already finished two pictures and working on the third now.
You'll need some nice sharp colored pencils for this one--crayons definitely will not work. The designs are covered in extemely small details, which I found a bit daunting at first. But once I colored my first page and saw how cool it came out looking with all those teeny-tiny detailed patterns filled in, I was hooked. This is now my favorite coloring book of all time. Highly recommend for all adults who like to color.
Unless you're willing to sacrifice entire pages, I suggest running off copies to color. They are printed on front and back and the paper bleeds color through to the other side.Another thing to consider is that the detail is so fine that you better have hawk eyes, a steady hand and super fine tip markers to color these images.
This one has amazingly small details that require extra-fine points on whatever you use to color them with along with some really good lighting near where you sit to work on it. One thing that is helpful with these images is to enlarge them a bit in a photocopier before coloring them to make the details easier to see.Definitely not meant for small children, this is for adult coloring enthusiasts. If you love Erte' you will love this one!It's 30 pages of Erte' repros printed back-to-back on quality white stock paper, with informative captions under each image that include the original illustration dates.Fun and educational.
Beautiful, beautiful coloring book--intricate details and gorgeous pages.
this is a very detailed coloring book, and in fact, I obtained a very fine point artists set of markers to use because I found crayons or pastels too blunt for these page designs. I am enjoying working on the designs very much, and am very happy with the results, although it is much more of a challenge to do any shading or highlighting. The quality is very good, and although it would not be suitable for a younger child, it may prove quite interesting to a young adolescent or adult to deal with the details and lovely fantasy of this coloring book.
I remember having these books back in the '70's and now I've ordered them mainly because I have arthritis and this is great therapyfor my fingers! Go ahead and order it ladies...we all deserve a coloring book! I've even given them as gifts.
this is a diffucult book and not really appropriate for beginners no matter the age. the detailsare very small and somewhat confusing. 'also the pages are double sided so the colors bleedthrough easily.
