This book is AWESOME - fun pictures, graphically appealing to kids, there are multiple types of butterfly breeds to fulfill many of the letters but overall, does cover most common bugs & has the COOLEST pictures. Son loves it.
My two year old granddaughter loved this book the moment she saw it. There were some bugs she recognized and some that she wanted to know more about. Colorful close up photos of the creatures are a real plus. Each insect has a small but important fact about it. I like that it is not in depth because it gives Ruby the motivation to find out more by asking questions. It happens that this week at the Houston Childrens Museum she had an opportunity to catagorize mammals, insects and fish. She spent more time on the insects because they fascinated her, so this book came at the right time. The book was packaged with another one and they arrived on time and in excellent condition
An alphabet book of bugs, with stunning full-color close-up photos of bugs reminiscent of the awesome DK books. Written in few words, for the youngest kids, but bug-lovers through age 10 will be fascinated.
The book was the perfect gift for my 3 year old grandson who loves bugs. He was so happy when he saw it.
Fun book - my 4 year-old daughter loved it
This is a wonderful book for children to be read and later to read. I bought this for a child for an upcoming birthday. I was surprised to see how much I didn't know about some of these bugs. There are one or two bugs for every letter of the alphabet described in simple words, beautiful and realistic photos and drawings with a few facts about each bug. This is a wonderful book about bugs for kids of all ages. It contains one or two bugs for each letter of the alphabet. There are realistic pictures of each bug and a few facts about each bug. I learned things about several different bugs that I didn't know. It is written in plain words any child can understand. I purchased binoculars to go with the book. You never know where a child's interests may lie or what kind of profession they will decide on, I like exposing them to any learning experience that is also fun. It is meant for kids 3 and up but you can read it to them, just don't let them eat it!
I got this book for a 4 year old along with a bug catching set for his b-day. All the kids put down their video games and went outside to find bugs.
My little 4 year old buddie has really enjoyed this book. It gives very interesting facts and has lovely pictures. It also helps teach the ABC's. My only criticism would be that the author has also included spiders in this book and spiders are not bugs but arachnids.
