My 6 year old daughter loves to watch birds, look for nests, and whistle along when she hears their songs. I bought this book to support that interest, and all of my children (6, 4, and 3) love it. It has very bright and colorful pictures that grab their attention, is loaded with cool bird facts, introduces a broad spectrum of bird species, and is completely written on a young child's level of understanding. I've enjoyed reading it as much as they have, and I plan to purchase more of the National Geographic "Little Kids" books.
Great book! My son (5 years old) loves the Little Kids First Big Book series. We have almost all of them! Great information for little curious minds to remember and learn. has them for awesome prices!! Saw one of these books at a bookstore for $20. We will continue purchasing this series as long as carries them and National Geographic publishes them!!
Arrived on time. Book looked great. Personally, I wished it had more tropical birds inside because they are my favorite. They aimed at a wider variety of birds and skimmed over each for a child's level. Still a nice book to have for your kids.
