My six-month-old son loves this book. It is a wonderful stroller toy because it keeps him occupied for a long time. The cover is soft and snuggly; plus, the baby bird can be put in different little pockets throughout the book--so my two-year-old daughter loves to "read" this book to the baby. One caveat: because it's so plush we let our son play with it in his crib and he got the string loosely wrapped around his neck. He's fine, and he still loves the book, but I certainly wouldn't let him play with it unsupervised again.

As a child I loved the regular version of this book so my mother bought the cloth version for my baby girl. I was a little skeptical - thinking that this wasn't a story that a child a soft book age would enjoy (not enough rhythm or rhyme). My little one has loved this since I introduced it to her at approximately 6 months (should have done it sooner). She loves playing with and inspecting the birdie. She loves looking at the bright colors (especially the red which is a color that babies see early). We know that this is one of her favorite things because she takes it with her when she rolls or scoots. I see the complaints about the original story being abbreviated. I understand where the person is coming from because the original story is better but I accept this for what it is - a first book for a baby. In that way it is absolutely perfect. I was not familiar with cloth books before my mother got this for us and I am so glad that she did. I am going to try to post a picture or two (she is holding the book above her head while laying on the floor - absolutely adorable).

We adopted a little girl from abroad. She is still a toddler and too young to discuss adoption. We got her this book to see how she would react. It has become her favorite that she MUST have read to her every night. We feel it is helping resolve issues she might have with being adopted. She especially likes that she can take control of the little bird herself and move it through the scenes to its mother.

My children loved this story when they were little so I was very glad to see it in a soft book and bought it for my 7 month old grandson. He is fascinated by books and will sit still for a very long time while I read to him. Of course, sometimes he likes to also chew on the books and fling them around so buying him a soft, squishable book was a no brainer. Having the baby bird attached with a ribbon and backed with Velcro so you can move him from page to page is a clever idea but doesn't really work for my grandson. He thinks the baby bird is a toy and just wants to grab the baby bird and stuff it in his mouth. This might be a great idea for an older child, but I think cloth books' target audience are usually babies and younger toddlers who won't be able to grasp the concept of moving the bird from page to page. I put the book away and will bring it out again when he's a little older and can understand that the "toy" baby bird is part of the story.

I loved this book as a child and the cloth version is great too. My only complaint is that the bird can't do as many activities or stick as many places as in "good night teddy." The story is better but the execution with the interactive bird is a little less exciting. The quality is still great though!

While this won't entirely replace the original book, They look and feel of this one adds a lot of interest for a younger child that isn't ready for a paper book yet. The majority of the well-loved story is there, and the baby bird can be moved through the book which helps provide interest. The colors are gorgeous and the textures feel so soft and inviting. I just like to hold it myself.

This cloth book is safe for infants and encourages early reading and developmental skills. The bird doll is securely fastened and won't break off its short ribbon even when my baby pulls on it. He has used it as a teething toy so I'm pleased I can toss it in the washing machine when I need to clean it. Its a great first book and would make a nice shower gift. The only Con I have is that the story is too short.

I love this cloth book! This is one of my childhood favorites, so I was so excited to see it in cloth book form. My little one has a lot of fun moving the baby bird along the pages and I like the fact that I can wash it!
