Where Is The Brooklyn Bridge?

Young readers will connect with the story of this National Historic Landmark--the Brooklyn Bridge!      Building the Brooklyn Bridge was no simple feat. Despite a brilliant plan from a father-son team of engineers, the process was a dangerous and grueling one. Construction workers developed a mysterious illness (now known as the bends), several died, and the project had devastating effects on the engineers' lives. Still, after fourteen years, the Brooklyn Bridge was finished and became the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time and is still widely admired today. Megan Stine tells the fascinating story behind one of the city's best-loved landmarks. Includes black-and-white illustrations and a foldout color map!

To be honest, don't remember ordering this book. Was debating on whether I should send it back, when I decided to read it. To my surprise, I enjoyed reading about how they made the bridge, who started the project, etc. I'm 69 and enjoyed finding out about the bridge. In fact, I decided to order the book about the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and wonder if they have one about how the Golden Gate Bridge was made. Now that I read these book will be sending them to my 2 grandsons.

Perfect for AR tests for my kids school.

I think its one of the best where is books I ever read. I loved the way they were so exact in what happens on the Brooklyn bridge. Its a great book you should try it.Written by a 9 year old
